The Grand Opera Raffle 2010 is organised by Concertina, a charity which provides the elderly with access to music and music therapy. In these times of hot debate about the quality of life provided to the elderly and the terminally ill, Concertina has provided genuine life enhancement even in Alzheimer's patients: it's a really wonderful cause.
For the moderate price of £10 a raffle ticket, you get the chance to win tickets to some of the best opera that's around: Glyndebourne, The Royal Opera and plenty more listed below. We're definitely buying some tickets and we think you should too (which is why we've donated this space to Concertina).

In case you're in any doubt as to the value of the cause, here are some stories from Concertina's work:
One of our patients has recently been bereaved and critically ill herself and at times lost the will to live. At the end of the concert she whispered to me. “I wouldn’t have missed this for the world.”
The residents in a home, who all had Alzheimer’s, were given a concert and afterwards it was quite overwhelming that the level of communication had just transcended anything it had been before the music. One lady insisted on hugging the musician tightly and whispered in her ear, “Could you stay forever, then I wouldn’t need pills.”
And if you're feeling hard-headed: Concertina are hoping to raise £10,000, with a list of some of the prizes shown below. You do the maths.
