Family Concert: Peter and the Wolf
Once upon a time, a composer wrote a fairytale for orchestra! With every action in the story depicted in glorious orchestral colour, it’s no surprise that Peter and the Wolf has long been loved by children and grown-ups alike. Prokofiev uses the instruments of the orchestra to tell the story, and to bring his characters to life - animal and human! Before that, violinist Catherine Arlidge will help you decode how Britten conjures up a stormy seaside night in music from his Four Sea Interludes, and how a film composer scares you silly in music from Jaws.
