The world's best way to find live classical music

Family Concert: Peter and the Wolf

Family Concert: Peter and the Wolf

Once upon a time, a composer wrote a fairytale for orchestra! With every action in the story depicted in glorious orchestral colour, it’s no surprise that Peter and the Wolf has long been loved by children and grown-ups alike. Prokofiev uses the instruments of the orchestra to tell the story, and to bring his characters to life - animal and human! Before that, violinist Catherine Arlidge will help you decode how Britten conjures up a stormy seaside night in music from his Four Sea Interludes, and how a film composer scares you silly in music from Jaws. Keep an eager ear out for other messages hidden in the music… FREE craft workshops and music in the foyers from 1.30pm. Why not come dressed up as your favourite animal?
