Manchester Camerata Proms in Hyde Park
  | Hide help

Saturday evening sees the return of 'Proms in Hyde Park ' as Manchester Camerata Orchestra once again take centre stage to perform an extensive programme of popular classical music including various Russian ballet favourites and a selection of opera greats. The evening will finish with a spectacular firework display set to some of the traditional 'Last Night of the Proms' flag-waving classics including Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Pomp and Circumstance.
Tenor Jon Christos returns to the stage, following on from a year of massive success including performances at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall, the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and The Royal Albert Hall. Jon is delighted to be performing in Hyde again in front of his home crowd!
Jon will be joined on stage by soprano Jenny Williams who will perform at the event for the first time ever. At only 20 years of age, Jenny is one of the most promising up and coming young classical singers in the Country.
Members of the public are invited to bring their own picnics to the event and make themselves at home in the beautiful surroundings of Hyde Park. There will also be food available from a variety of event caterers. This is an outdoor event - please dress appropriately for the weather.
