Exciting news: we have just launched a mobile application for the site, bringing Bachtrack to the users of iPhones, Blackberries, Androids and many other mobiles. One of our big aims is to help you promote your concerts, opera or ballet to a new and younger audience and this app should appeal to people of all ages!
What this means to you
If you are already using our pay-per-click service
People with smartphones can now find out about and book your forthcoming events even when they are on the move. They will find your events have a big red “Buy tickets” button attached, and if they press that, they will go through to your booking page for that event on their smartphone's browser. Clicks are charged at the usual rate.
If you're not yet using our pay-per-click service
People with smartphones can find out about your forthcoming events even when they are on the move. However, they will not see a red "Buy tickets" button, so they will have to find your booking details elsewhere.
Of course, we'd love you to upgrade your account to pay-per-click; we think your visitors will love it too!
How to look at the app
The app works on the majority of phones with modern browsers: it has been tested on iPhone, Blackberry, Android and larger Nokia phones. We're currently ironing out some problems with Palm and should have this up and running shortly.
Simply point your phone's browser at m.bachtrack.com. The app takes a little while to load: as long as you've got good network coverage, it should run fast after that.
If you don't have a smartphone, just point your desktop browser at the same URL, and imagine that you have a very small screen. It will give you a good idea of how the app will work.
Specially for iPhone users
We will also be releasing special editions of the app to run as packaged applications for the most common mobile platforms, thus eliminating the initial loading time. The first of these, "Bachtrack for iPhone" is currently awaiting approval at the iTunes App Store and will be available as a free download immediately on completion of approvals. A version for the Google Android operating system is currently in development.
To learn more...
The app is exceptionally fast, with a clean and simple design specially adapted to use on a small screen over slow networks.
To learn more and see a short screencam demonstration, go to www.bachtrack.com/bachtrack-for-mobile. You can find out about the iPhone version on www.bachtrack.com/bachtrack-for-iphone.
The Bachtrack for mobile app is fast, flexible and easy to use and it's the first application to bring such super fast, high quality search of classical music events to a broad variety of mobile platforms.
We hope you enjoy using the mobile app and find it helps ticket sales too.
Best regards from
Alison and David Karlin
