London International Music Show

LIMSlogoEducation Day at LIMS is the UK's greatest festival of music learning. Like all the best festivals, there’s a huge range of possibilities. A chance to see big stars close up; to check out the newest products and the latest gear before anyone else; to try something you’ve never tried before; to interact, contribute, make your voice heard; and to go home with some special souvenirs and inspiring thoughts from the day. On top of all that, you’ll be hanging out and networking with people like you –
people who love music and love learning. Students, youth groups, young people and school parties are welcome too.

We know how daunting it can be choosing exactly what to do when you first look at a festival running order -- so we’ve put together a few suggestions for you....”

Radio 1 DJ Colin Murray judges the finals on the Buskers’ Corner, and tells you about his life and career on the air.

Our keynote speaker Sir Ken Robinson – an inspirational creative force in education and the arts. We guarantee he will change the way you think about music and creativity, and make you laugh at the same time.

Top violinist David Juritz will be performing and showing clips from his BBC world busking documentary.

Lend your voice, your opinion and your vote at our “Question Time” style session on music education. International panellists include Sir Ken Robinson, musician and BMR supremo Feargal Sharkey, Professor Liane Hentschke, president of the International Society of Music Educators and Professor Gary McPherson, Dean of Creative Arts, Science and Technology at the University of Sydney. More key speakers to be announced, but the most important person there will be you.

Live music from Conservatoires UK, master violinist David Juritz, BBC Young Musician of the Year Guy Johnson, a classical and a jazz quartet, brilliant NUMU and Access to Music students and a range of special guests and star appearances courtesy of our exhibitors.
