The Conservatoire and Blackheath Halls are joining together to launch a Blackheath Youth Orchestra in October 2009. This orchestra will be launched at a three day course during the October half term. Instrumentalists aged between 11 and 18 are welcome to join on any instrument. There will be no auditions but participants should play to approximately Grade 3 standard or above.
The orchestra will be led by Phillip Scott, the Conservatoires Principal, and sectional rehearsals will be led by teacher from the Conservatoire.
The course will run over three days 27, 28 & 29 October between 10am and 4pm, and will culminate in a concert on 29 October at 7.30pm in the Great Hall at Blackheath Halls.
