Known for his vocal writing, he composed books of madrigals that are a staple of choral repertoire around the world. The always inventive Ensemble ACJW breathes new life into Monteverdi’s polyphonic gems, performing four madrigals in an innovative arrangement for brass quintet by trumpeter Raymond Mase. This concert is part of Salon Encores. Monteverdi, Claudio (1567-1643), Four Madrigals Akiho, Andy, New Work (NY Premiere, Commissioned by Carnegie Hall) | ||
