| Philharmonie: Großer Saal, Berlin, D10785 Berlin, Germany Friday 18-Jan-13 08:00pm Berliner Philharmoniker, Murray Perahia Joined by the mime Dimitri and his company, members of the Berliner Philharmoniker will present a staged performance of Igor Stravinsky’s Soldier’s Tale for narrator, two actors, a dancer and seven musicians. In this family concert, the Chamber Music Hall will be turned into the setting for a bargain played out between the Soldier and the Devil who, in exchange for the Soldier’s violin, offers him a magic book with which to make his fortune. Without his fiddle, however, the Soldier’s new-found wealth brings him no joy. He longs to undo the exchange, but that isn’t so easy when you’re dealing with the Devil. A hair-raising journey ensues, at the end of which nothing is left as it was before. Schubert, Franz (1797-1828), Sonata in C major for 4 hands, "Grand Duo" D.812 (orch. Joseph Joachim) | ||
