| Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ: Main Hall, Amsterdam, Piet Heinkade 1, Amsterdam 1019 BR, Netherlands Tuesday 26-Nov-13 08:15pm Anne Sofie von Otter + Bengt Forsberg De wereldberoemde mezzosopraan Anne Sofie von Otter heeft vele gezichten. In dit concert richt zij zich op het Franse lied, van Debussy tot prachtige Franse chansons. Voor Von Otter en haar vaste pianist Bengt Forsberg is er geen principieel verschil tussen lied en chanson. Zo is in dit liedrecital muziek te horen van Debussy naast chansonnier Charles Trenet. De liederen van Reynaldo Hahn weerspiegelen het ‘Belle Epoque’ van voor de Eerste Wereldoorlog.
Plaats is er ook voor Francis Poulenc, wiens muziek soepeltjes tussen het lichtere en zwaardere genre heen en weer pendelt. De bijzonder veelzijdige Anne Sofie von Otter schitterde eerder net zo goed in de rol van Octavian in Strauss’ Rosenkavalier, als in werk van Mozart en Händel. Trouw recent. Vele persstemmen én het publiek zijn het daar volkomen mee eens. Dit seizoen beleeft
de reeks Grote Zangers van het Muziekgebouw de vierde editie. Véronique Gens kan daarin niet
ontbreken. De gelauwerde Mozartvertolkster excelleert de laatste jaren vooral met muziek uit haar
geboorteland Frankrijk. Dat doet zij volgens The Guardian met ongelooflijke klankschoonheid en
tekstnuance.
Véronique Gens zong in de Scala in Milaan, het Auditorium van het Musée d’Orsay in Parijs, de Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. Onder dirigenten als Marc Minkowski en René Jacobs ontwikkelde zij bovendien een fraai barokgeluid.
