| Dr Anton Philipszaal, The Hague, Spuiplein 150, The Hague 2511, Netherlands Friday 31-May-13 08:15pm Residentie Orkest/The Hague Philharmonic featuring Rufus Wainwright Rufus Wainwright, who Elton John called ‘the greatest songwriter on the planet’, is coming to The Hague! The world-famous singer-songwriter will perform for the very first time in the Dr Anton Philipszaal with the Residentie Orkest/The Hague Philharmonic. Since his debut in 1998, the son of legendary folksingers Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McCarrigle has developed his own characteristic style, working in rock, opera, theatre, dance and film. His albums have won many awards. In The Hague, Rufus will present excerpts from his first opera ‘Prima Donna’ (2009) and much more including of course a few of his greatest hits.

In these final performances of our season, we’ll be projecting high resolution images of each planet while the orchestra plays. In collaboration with the Hong Kong Space Museum, there will be other stargazing activities in Tsimshatsui for this concert – cloud cover permitting!
