The Dutch pianist has played in all the world’s great concert halls, including Vienna’s Musikverein and New York’s Carnegie Hall. He’ll play with the Residentie Orkest/The Hague Philharmonic in Chopin’s First Piano Concerto, a masterwork that gives the pianist every opportunity to show off what he or she can do, just as Chopin himself did when he wowed Warsaw with the piece in 1830. The concert will close with Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony, one of the most beloved in the symphonic repertoire, conducted by a favourite with audiences, Santtu-Matias Rouvali. | ||
