Flagey: Studio 4, Brussels, Place Saint-Croix / Heilig Kruisplein, 1050 Brussels, Belgium Saturday 15-Jun-13 08:15pm Brussels Philharmonic Gabriel Yared wrote his first film score in 1975, for Miss O'Gynie et les hommes fleurs by the Belgian Samy Pavel. He followed it with many other soundtracks, including the one for The Lives of Others (Das Leben der Anderen), The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain. His composition for The English Patient won him an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Grammy Award. In 2004 Yared’s music for Cold Mountain won him the prizes for both the Soundtrack Composer of the Year and the Best Original Soundtrack of the Year at the World Soundtrack Awards. During the film music concert we will present a selection from the rich repertoire of Gabriel Yared. The Brussels Philharmonic has also selected his music for the 5th edition of the “For the record’ series of the Film festival.
