| Cadogan Hall, London SW1X 9DQ, United Kingdom Friday 9-Apr-10 19:30 Shostakovich Conducts Shostakovich Maxim Shostakovich is the son of the great Russian composer, Dmitri Shostakovich. He brings very particular insights into his father's music: here the cheeky and scintillating Festive Overture, the witty Piano Concerto No.2 with its lovely slow movement being of moonlit radiance, and the Fifth Symphony, which has ambiguous political overtones and remains one of Shostakovich's most personal and richly rewarding pieces.
