Dedicated to classical music and flamboyant folklore from Georgia, the first edition of the Batumi MusicFest will be held from 22 to 28 June 2013 in Batumi, Georgia, the magical city beside the Black Sea.
The festival will present internationally renowned soloists: Bruno Monsaingeon, Valery Sokolov, Elisso Bolkvadze, Philippe Cassard, Mikhalis Economou, George Jordania, Soso Bardanashvili, Ketevan Kemoklidze, Givi Chichinadze, Vitautas Giedraitis, and also several gifted young musical prodigies.
Batumi MusicFest was founded by a brilliant Georgian pianist Elisso Bolkvadze with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia and the state of Adjara.
Georgian polyphonic choirs and majestic dancers are renowned worldwide as impressively touching their audiences. Indeed, Batumi Festival has chosen to spotlight Georgian folklore by presenting several performances of traditional national ensembles. All concerts will be broadcasted by Adjara television. Masterclasses will be held in order to inspire and motivate young musicians from all around Georgia.
In the very heart of the magnificent region of Adjara, the Batumi MusicFest takes place within the enchanting surroundings of the Batumi Music Center (1200 seats) and promises to soon become a great occasion for visiting this beautiful country and gain an important place on the international classical music season.
