STOUR MUSIC, the early music festival set in the heart of the Kent countryside, was founded in 1962 by the celebrated countertenor Alfred Deller.

Performers at this year’s festival include The King’s Singers, William Christie conducting the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment with mezzo-soprano Renata Pokupić, Fretwork, in a concert to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the birth of John Dowland with lutenist Elizabeth Kenny and tenor James Gilchrist, The Magdalena Consort and a performance of the Monteverdi Vespers with His Majestys Sagbutts & Cornetts and Brecon Baroque Players led by Rachel Podger.
