Julia Gertseva was born in Leningrad and graduated from the St Petersburg Conservatory. Since 2003 her international career has blossomed, performing major roles including Carmen, Princess Eboli, Suzuki, Dalila and Joan of Arc, in Berlin, Milan, Vienna, Florence, Tel Aviv, Dresden, Bologna and the Maggio Musicale Florence. Concert performances include Berlioz's Romeo et Juliette with Sir Colin Davis at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Mozart's Requiem at the Choregies d'Orange and the Verdi Requiem in Oslo.
